Insanity | Week 1
Fri: Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Sat: Upper Body Resistance + Lawn Mow/Aeration!/Feed+Seed
Sun: Blessed REST
Nutrition/Eating Log

What a great way to start a Friday. Tired rolling out of bed, making some black coffee, slap on the ol' cross-trainers, pair of fans, then let Shaun T rock it out.

If you're doing Insanity, you may hit the same wall I do. About 9 minutes left, on the final two routines, you're down on the ground doing push-ups, leg extensions, then ski jumps in plank, then in and outs -- yikes.

This gets pretty intense in this downward position. So I've started to clear my head, focus on:

1. Breathing
2. Form (As flat a back as I can manage!)
3. Counting 10-15 reps for each move, outloud, while grunting
4. Pausing for 3 breaths when the thighs start to scream BREAK TIME

I think it's the rep counting that's helping me max the burn. I've been focused on the moves/learning the routines, now I can focus on the output in total.

Heck, even the warm up feels like a warm up now. First 1/3rd of the DVD is just getting ready for the real deal, and Mummy Kicks/all the rest = pretty nuts for getting "ready." A little sweat, not as much as last week, then ready to drop in for the Insane 2/3rds that is... Plyo Cardio Circuit.

Enjoy your Friday -- back in it for Day 6 of Week 1 FULL tomorrow for the Sat. morning win.

Sat. = upper body weight lifting conditioning. Who said Insanity doesn't involve weights? Mix up some cardio moves with some great new weightlifting positions and you have an hour of greatness. Wow. Off to Will's soccer game, then some lawn aeration/mowing/seeding?

Man-sized hamburgers = keeping BeachBody
in business since... well, for a long time!
