Fall Campout @ Jordan Lake, NC
Media from our amazing, 100+ Pack member event over the weekend. Shot with a Kodak Zi8, thanks to Kodak for their Name a Kodak contest on Twitter, was one of 100 random winners (unboxing) of this amazing device. A+, highly recommended for any online video shooting, even in 1080p.
To see them in higher quality and wide screen, click HQ at the bottom right of the YouTube video windows after you start playing. Note that all of these videos (and photos) were shot in WVGA mode (least good, but still GREAT) on the Zi8, perfect for Web sharing.
Flag retirement ceremony. Turn down the lights, take a deep breath, and take then next 12 minutes to see how to properly retire an old flag, and remember all of our family members who gave their lives or time in service of our military. (Here's a second angle of things, shot with a Flip video camera for comparison. Thanks Terri!)
Lunch -- loved our system. Each Den hosted a meal, we all walked into their campsite, got served, ate, then they cleaned up. Rotate to the next meal/campsite/Den, rinse and repeat. We ate so well, was almost like NOT camping! Heck it is Cub Scouts after all.
Pack 218's Wolf Den tying knots for the first time. Not bad at all!
Our Cubs get their first chance to use popsicle sticks as "knives" and carve soap bars. In the background, you can see the Webelos working on their whittling chips using real knives, all sitting apart in their safety circles.
