Wed. Feb. 27 Workout

P90X Back & Biceps + Monster Ab Ripper X & Walk

Gotta love the ol' back and biceps... tons of goodness in there. The green band served me well, lots of resistance, plenty of sweat near the end. Still haven't gotten around to finding some cheap free weights on Craigslist. Dying to pick up some 40's with Tony and really get something going.

Lots on my plate today, Will is feeling better...

Tim, your fat loss progress seems to be consistent so kudos to you but I'm curious about new muscle. I do not mean to be critical but I have a genuine curiosity for why you don't seem to have any new muscle development. Are you skipping the hypertrophy workouts (providing there are some included. I am still waiting on my P90X to arrive)? Thanks in advance. kathy

Thanks Kathy -- I hear you. There's actually a lot more new muscle than you can see in the photos. I barely recognize my arms/forearms, legs/esp. the hamstring area -- those areas used to be fatty and pretty plain.

Now I can see definition, my fat legs don't rub together in the middle (well they do a bit now, but it's muscle rubbing muscle in a small spot!), and when I do the huggers it's hard to believe that this small, hard body is MINE.

I'm also noticing that all of the fat in my neck/under my chin has pretty much dissolved.

So yes, it's hard to see in the photos tons of new muscle.

Keep in mind, and maybe this is part of it -- I'm doing the far ripper diet, with VERY low carbs, and doing the 10-15 reps thing for each move. That's lower weights and focusing on getting lean. Tony tells us to go for 7-10 reps with much bigger weights to get the SIZE, and honestly, my wife dislikes big, big muscles, so I've gone for lean.
