There are legions of Android owners who take great pride in modifying their Google-powered phones in every conceivable way. I mean, who doesn’t want to root their device to install custom ROMs, over clock their CPU, and save/restore backup images?

Once that new ROM is running your phone, there’s a solid chance your home screen will be missing a key feature: a clock. That’s where Make Your Clock Widget Beta comes in. This small, feature-rich app gives you all the tools you need to create a clock and date display that’s as unique as your modified phone.

Use the controls along the bottom to set the time display parameters, starting with the clock type. You know, Hour (24 Hour Clock): Minute, Hour (12 Hour Clock): Minute, Year, Month, and so on. Once that’s selected, the result can be made larger or smaller, the font changed, its location tweaked, and much more.

But that’s only the beginning. Changing its color, adding drop shadows, tweaking the number type (yes you can display Latin numbers), and fixing its location on the screen is a matter of selecting a few simple controls. You can also mix and match dates and time in the available space, making each element different, and stacking them near or far away from each other.

Thankfully, for those of us with better things to do than tweaking our favorite clock/date display, a big set of predefined templates make it easy to walk through the myriad of options. Just choose the one that’s closest to your ideal display, tweak it, then save it.
